"People Are People" explores the power of fashion as communication, where the designs of Christian Siriano speak volumes on contemporary issues in art, design, society and politics, such as the right to vote, LGBTQIA gender conversations, body positivity, diversity, inclusion and social responsibility. This exhibition features some of his iconic looks, seen on the red carpet and worn by such luminaries as Michelle Obama, Lady Gaga, Janelle Monae, Lizzo, and Billy Porter.
This private tour will be led by Carmela Spinelli, a fashion historian and academic specialist with more than 20 years of experience in the design industry and higher education. Across her 13-year tenure at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Carmela has served as chair of the university’s top-ranked fashion program and frequently hosts workshops and conversations on fashion, beauty, branding, and exhibition design.
Join us for a private tour of the Christian Siriano exhibition with Carmela Spinelli on Friday, June 14 at 12:30pm. This 90-minute experience will include an opportunity to hear more about what SCAD has to offer, as well as time in the Siriano interactive space.
